Spring Membership Meeting 3-29-98
Lansing, MI
The meeting was called to order by President, Dave Loop at 1:07 P.M.
The minutes of the State Championship Meeting were read by Steve Summerlin. Claude Shannahan made motion to accept minutes as read. Seconded by Ron Kohn.
Marty Quillen, Treasurer, gave a partial financial report stating that the check book balance was $5301.00 for the general fund. Motion to accept by Phil Ladouceur. Accepted on the floor.
Paul “Dewey” Howard, Audit and Finance, stated that he had reviewed the treasurer’s books and that all was in order.
Ron Kohn, 1stVP announced to the membership that the WSHPA in conjunction with the Midland County Convention & Visitors Bureau have submitted a bid for the 2000 NHPA World Tournament. Discussion on the floor followed with John Decker and Ron Kohn (members of the WT committee) answering general questions.
Hall of Fame Committee announced that there has been a change in Chairpersons of the committee. Paul “Dewey” Howard is now the Chairperson with former Chair Duane Gillin remaining as a member of the committee.
No other reports by officers or committees.
There was no unfinished business and no new business was proposed.
It was announced that the Michigan Olympics “Great Lakes Games” had been canceled by the Governor.
Motion made by John Decker to adjourn and seconded by Dan Markley
