REX RYAN Hillsdale, MIRex started pitching horseshoes on the farm as a young man. Rex was a farmer, horseshoe enthusiast and long-time Hillsdale County Fair Board Superintendent. Rex deserves much of the credit for fostering organized horseshoes in Hillsdale County. He served as coordinator for County Fair horseshoe tournaments from 1983 to 2002. Rex started the "Thursday Night Horseshoe Group" and the summer league that continues today. Rex joined the NHPA and the WSHPA in 1983 and pitched in many club and state tournaments. He pitched in Las Vegas and many tournaments in Florida; he was paired with Bonnie Siebold at the Florida State Fair, says he even won a little money that time. Rex and his wife Edith have a daughter, Susan, and four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Rex has been an enthusiastic horseshoe pitcher and a tireless promoter of our sport. Great job. The WSHPA membership is proud to have Rex as a member of the WSHPA Hall of Fame. |
