Michigan Team Finishes
In 4th Place Over all
In Joelton, Tennessee at the Jack Freeman Horseshoe courts a tournament called Music City Team Tournament was held recently. This was the first time that Michigan had a team entered. There were 22 teams from different states. Players played a round robin of 15 games each. They took the top 5 teams and placed them in a ladder playoff. There were a lot of top pitchers plus some World Champions.

The Michigan team consisted of Judy Curtiss of Blanchard, Jim Wiltse of Charlotte and Larry Kemp of Eaton Rapids. The Michigan team finished in 5th place before the play offs. They finished 4th overall.
The winners were as follows: First place - Tennessee, 2nd place was Minnesota, 3rd - Indiana, 4th Michigan and 5th Wisconsin.

There were a few spectators from Michigan to cheer for their team. Joelton plans on having the World Tournament in 2003. Jack Freeman courts have some nice facilities. They are still doing some improvements, The plus a Hall of Fame building.
