He is a member of the Jackson County Horseshoe Club and has served as their President, Secretary and Treasurer. He has held office in this club for almost every year since the club started in 1972.

Tom has been the tournament director for the Jackson club for most of the outdoor tournaments hosted there. He has been the tournament director for the indoor tournament. hosted every winter since the building was ready for tournament play. With the help of other club members this facility has been a successful endeavor.
Tom was the tournament director for the indoor state tournament held in 1988.

If it were not for Tom, we would not have this fine facility to pitch in during the winter months. The Jackson club draws many pitchers from out of state, mainly Ohio, Indiana and Canada. All of whom feel very welcome. We all knew Tom had some help on the building, but Tam started it all.

In 1979 Tom was in charge of building a shed, planting trees and putting up lights and .building a fence around the courts for everyone's safety. If anyone wanted to pitch horseshoes and could not find a team Tom would put them on his team. He has dropped out of his class during the winter tournaments to let a late comer pitch in his Place.

Tom is a hard worker for the Jackson club. He not only works on the books, but you can see him there bright and early to help get the courts ready for the tournaments.

Tom won class F-2 in the state tournament in 1985.
