BILL BENDER Brown City, MI Bill started pitching in 1976. He pitched in the backyard with his son and sister.Bill joined the NHPA and WSHPA in 1977. Bill founded, and did most of the work to build the Brown City courts. He also bought most of the material to build the courts. Bill was Tournament Director for the Brown City courts from 1979 to 2002. Bill was tournament director for 24 years. Bill went many of the State Tournaments in this span of years. He won Class B2 in 1987. Bill went to several Midwest Tournaments and placed several times. Bill pitched a one and a quarter and a one and three quarter turn shoe. 
Bill promoted horseshoes in the Brown City area and also taught horseshoes in the local schools.Bill also constructed indoor courts and pitched in the wintertime. Bill has shown his love of and dedication to the sport of horseshoes. |
