FLOYD BARTLEY       Pontiac, MI

Floyd won the state championship in 1981 with a 10-1 record pitching 67.4%

He started pitching in the Pontiac parks and recreation facilities in 1952.
He helped organize the Tuesday night league and was the director of play.
Floyd was the city champ in 1954, 57, 58,59, 60, 61.
He and his partner won the city doubles title in 1956 & 1960.

In 1965 he helped move the league to Lake Orion and was the club president and secretary/treasurer for seven years.
He helped to maintain the Lake Orion courts for over 20 years.

Floyd and Doc Maison put on an exhibition at the Berkley courts and Floyd helped dedicate the new courts at Waterford Oaks.

Floyd pitched in many world tournaments and was a delegate to the national convention.
He pitched in the class B finals for a first place tie and finished 2nd.

In the Greenville Ohio Ringer Classic he took 2nd place in a very tough group of class B pitchers.

He won over 60 district tournaments in the WSHPA.
He was Class B State Champion in 1993.

In Florida he won the strawberry festival tournament in 1978.
Floyd was always a tough competitor and a gentleman on and off the courts. He averaged in the middle 60s to 70% with a high game of 86%.

He once defeated Jim Knisely in the Water Wonderland Tournament and Elmer Hohl in the Michigan/Ontario Friendship Tournament.
