
FRANK BARNES Battle Creek, MI Frank started pitching when he was in the service during WW2 in North Africa.He started pitching in the NHPA and WSHPA in 1979. He pitched in the Jackson league and went to his first WSHPA tournament with Tom Bracey, Jus Perticone and Leo Fitzpatrick. Quite a start, he has gone to a good share of WSHPA tournaments since then. Frank has pitched in the Midwest tournament in Indiana and Illinois. Frank has pitched in many World Tournaments. He pitched At Stone Mountain Georgia, Perry Georgia, Columbus, Ohio, Gillette, Wyoming, Ainsworth, Nebraska, Greenville, Ohio, and Kitchener, Ontario, Canada. Frank pitched in many of the Friendship tournaments at Wellesley, Ontario, Canada.
Frank was tournament champion at Union City in 2001.Frank won class B in the Seniors tournament at Kalamazoo in 2001 and class C in 2004. Frank conducted the Senior Olympic tournament 2 times at Battle Creek. He organized horseshoe pitching at the Valentine Senior Center in Battle Creek, later name changed to Burham Brook Center. He helped setup the scheduling at Berkley on Tuesday night in 1981. He has been the tournament director at Jackson for since 2000. He served as a Vice President of the Jackson Club. He also pitches in the league and helps out at Union City. Frank has always been a willing helper at WSHPA tournaments. The tournament directors appreciate this.
