
CAREY BAKER SR Kalamazoo, MI(A) As a player, Mr. Baker has distinguished himself in his performances as a member of the WSHPA for over 30 years. (B) Mr. Baker has been a promoter of the game - helped organize the Kalamazoo Area Horeshoe Club - He has been instrumental in all of the operations of the KAHC. We take his suggestions very seriously. Mr. Baker goes out of his way to support the Wolverine Association as well as the Kalamazoo Club. (C) As a player he has shown to be very competitive over the years. And, at the young age of 83 can still give his opponent a tough challenge. Mr. Baker's credentials in all the categories listed has over exemplified his always faithful credentials to the sport of horseshoes- helping other competitors and non-competitors when deemed necessary. He has been an asset to our sport as well as to all who have had the pleasure of knowing Mr. Carey Baker, Sr. State Championships: 1988 - 2nd place, Men's Class F1 1989 - 1st place, Men's Class C 2000 - 1st place, Senior's Class D 2001 - 1st place, Senior's Class E 2003 - 1st place, Senior's Class D These are only a few of his accomplishments during his membership. Club Officer: Public Affairs, Assistant Site Director - providing much needed supplies, talent and equipment to the KAHC and WSHPA during tournaments. Sportsmanship: As stated previously - exemplary in all categories. Years of Service: Over 30 years Local and state promotions: Always promoting the game. Volunteer: Always ready and willing. Helping to prepare for tournaments - keeping score - judging - bringing his golf cart to make things easier for everyone. Outstanding Character: Anyone who knows Carey (Sandy) Baker, Sr. knows that he or she has met a person who will touch your heart and leave a lasting, lifelong, impression that you have had the pleasure on being part of his character. |
