Next, I took a look at the list of the longest games in the
Men’s championship class at the world tournament to see if any PA pitchers made
the list. I found three games that
were long enough.
The first one I found was a game between Elmer Hohl and Dan
Kuchcinski in the 1967 W.T. at Fargo, North Dakota. The game went 154 shoes with Hohl winning 50-47. Elmer hit 87.7% while Dan hit
87.0%. This is the 36th longest
game in World tournament history.
The next one was a game between Floyd Toole and Jim Solomon
in the 1964 W.T. at Greenville Ohio.
It went 158 shoes with Toole winning 52-25. Floyd him 92.4% while Jim hit 87.8% and lost. This is the 30th longest game in W.T.
history.
And finally, the longest game in the history of the W.T. with
a PA pitcher in it was a game in the 1965 World Tournament in Keene, New
Hampshire. It was between Dan
Kuchcinski and Ray Martin. It went
160 shoes with Danny winning 51-47.
Dan hit 85.0% and Ray hit 83.8%.
This game is the 24th longest game in W.T. history.
The longest game in mens W.T. history by the way is a 194
shoe marathon between Glen Henton and Ray Martin at the 1965 W.T. Glen won 52-49 pitching 90.2% to Ray
Martins 89.7%. What’s funny is the
fact that Ray Martin is in the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd longest games in history.
