Horses, horses, horses, "Mustangs win by 10"

Well the end has come, and the "fat lady" has sung, The Mustangs won the gold ring by 10 games over the second place finishers, the Sun City Devils and Sierra Dawn Giddy-up. Uncle Andy Sauer's crew kept it alive for two weeks in his absence and still hung on to fourth place.

It was a good year for the most part with very little controversy. It should be controversy free, since we have been doing the same thing for almost 20 years now. Let us hope that next year will even be a better year for everyone, but remember we will all be one year older, and may be in a little more conciliatory mood.

The banquet is the last "HOORAH" and then it is a matter of waiting and preparing for another year to start, remember what you ended with as a handicap is what you will start the new year with unless you or a friend are totally knew.

The year closed out at Valley Wide and I heard the usual grumblings about the facility, the alternative is not of even close to better. Yes, everyone would like to go back to Gibbel, but there is no budgeted money in Hemet to control the transients and nothing to clean up and repair the rest room facilities.

To end the year we had nine "tossers" who hit for the cycle as it were at 10/20 one game. The leaders were Bob White with two at 14/12/40, Robert Albright tossed 10/11/40, while Quentin DuVall had a 12/20 game, and Al Charron, Wayne Loomis and Dick Prescott all tossed 11/20 outings. Rounding out the season with 10/20 games were Jerry Thomas, Fred Hafliger and Dave Flanders.
