NSHPA Meeting Minutes

·         President, Don Weaver, called the meeting to order.

 

·         This meeting was called to discuss the 1998 schedule.

 

·         The state tournament was determined to be on August 29 and August 30, 1998.

 

·         Scott Hardy suggested we consider the second week of the month for all other tournaments to be held.

 

·         Reno’s tournaments are scheduled for May 16 and May 17, June 6 and June 7, and September 12 and 13 totalling six (6) tournaments in all.

 

·         How to obtain more league members was discussed.  Ideally each NSHPA member should sign up a non-member.

 

·         There was a vote to continue the April No Fooling tournament which has each NHPA member bring a non member to partner with.  The 5 out of 7 vote wanted to continue this tournament.

 

·         Southern California allows Nevadans to play in their championships.

 

·         Scott Hardy will obtain a quote on state plaques.  The plate price currently stands at $1.50 each.  Thoughts were there were 18 plaques per case, thus needing three (3) cases.

 

·         It was suggested tournament entry fees be raised to $12.00 from $10.00  Then $10.00 would go towards the prize money and $2.00 would go to the club.

 

·         The need to tally first place winners would not be a problem with the current program used.

 

·         The 1998 schedule decisions are per the attached.
