  NSHPA Meeting Minutes

ATTENDEES:    2008 Nevada State Championship participants
LOCATION:       Joe Friel Sports Complex; Tonopah, Nevada
DATE:                 August 23, 2008.

DON WEAVER opened the meeting.

DON WEAVER informed the membership of his resignation as Regional Director and as NSHPA President. DON WEAVER approached CHAD HYATT prior to the meeting regarding accepting the position of Regional Director. CHAD HYATT agreed to accept the position upon further approval / appointment by the NHPA. Nominations for the President position were open to the floor. NANCY SALAZAR nominated CHAD HYATT. CHAD HYATT accepted the position. The vote was unanimous.
DON WEAVER then read a letter of resignation from CHAR SCHULTE, current Secretary/Treasurer. Nominations for the Secretary/Treasurer position were open to the floor. CHAD HYATT nominated TOM MCQUEEN. NANCY SALAZAR second the nomination and moved to close the nominations. TOM MCQUEEN accepted the position.
DON WEAVER suggested that an additional Vice President representing Central Nevada be added. Vote was unanimous to add a Central Vice President.
Nominations for the Southern Vice President position were open to the floor. LOIS PRIHEPA nominated FRANK MERCADANTE. NANCY SALAZAR second the nomination. DON FAISS motioned to close nominations for the Southern Vice President position. FRANK MERCADANTE accepted the position.
Nominations for the Central Vice President position were open to the floor. CHAD HYATT nominated KEN JOSE. JOHN SPILMAN second the nomination. NANCY SALAZAR motioned to close nominations for the Central Vice President position. KEN JOSE accepted the position.
Nominations for the Northern Vice President position were open to the floor due to TOM MCQUEEN accepting another position. CHAR SCHULTE made note that the Nevada State By-Laws state that at least one officer needs to be occupied by a female. CHAD HYATT nominated ELAINE PERRY. NANCY SALAZAR second the nomination and close nominations for the Northern Vice President. ELAINE PERRY accepted the position.
NANCY SALAZAR motioned to have the 2009 Nevada State Championships in Tonopah. JIM COSTA second the motion. The vote was unanimous. CHAD HYATT motioned for a August 29/30, 2009, date. JOHN SPILMAN second the motion. Pre-registration closing date will be on the 2009 Schedule.

FRANK BLAZEK motioned to adjourn the meeting. RUSS HALL SR. second the motion.
