    NSHPA Meeting Minutes

 

ATTENDEES:           Thirty (30) 2004 NSHPA Members

                                    plus non-member significant others

LOCATION:              Tonopah Station-Ramada Inn; Tonopah, Nevada

DATE:                        August 28, 2004.

 

 

·         A special thanks was offered to FRANK BLAZEK and KEN JOSE for organizing the 2004 Nevada State Championships tournament in Tonopah, Nevada

 

·         TOM and BETTY MCQUEEN were recognized for their attendance and help in the last two years of the Nevada State Championships.

 

·         An email list was passed around for additions or updates.

·         $8.00 monthly banking fee is charged when the minimum checking balance does not exceed a $2,500.00 balance.

·         Decline of adult members with largest number of junior members.

·         Internet website in dire need of a revamp due to obsolete software.

·         Asks for notification if closing a bank account or checks uncleared to NSHPA because checks bouncing are becoming an unnecessary problem.

 

 

 

 

 

·         Venues for the 2005 Nevada State Horseshoe Pitching Championships were put on the table.  GENO DAWSON moved to have the 2005 Nevada State Horseshoe Pitching Championships held in Tonopah.  TY FRAZIER. seconds the motion.  VICTOR WILLIAMS moved to have them in Hawthorne.  JIM COSTA seconds the motion.  DAVE CHEYNE moved to have them in Beatty.  NEAL SCHULTE seconds the motion.  A unanimous vote with 19 votes put the Nevada State Horseshoe Pitching Championships in Tonopah in the year 2005.  Beatty and Hawthorne received 3 votes each.  The 2005 Nevada State Horseshoe Pitching Championships will be held the last weekend in August before Labor Day.  The date is August 28, 2004.

·         A personal thanks was given to those who filled in during DON WEAVER’S surgeries and absence and for all cards, emails, calls, and visits during his recovery.  DON WEAVER also asked that his position be considered for the future due to his vacating the position.

 

·         Elections for Secretary/Treasurer and a Southern Vice President were opened for nominations.  TY FRAZIER nominated CHAR SCHULTE for Secretary/Treasurer.  GENO DAWSON seconds the nomination.  CHAR SCHULTE received a unanimous vote for Secretary/Treasurer.  JIM COSTA nominated SCOTT HARDY for Southern Vice President.  NEAL SCHULTE seconds the nomination.  LOIS PRIHEPA nominated TY FRAZIER for Southern Vice President.  NEAL SCHULTE moved we close nominations.  JACK PRIEN seconds the nomination.  SCOTT HARDY and TY FRAZIER tied in votes for Southern Vice President.  SCOTT HARDY received 14 votes and TY FRAZIER received 10 votes the second time around.

 

·         DON WEAVER asked for further business.  There was no further business for discussion.

 

·         SCOTT HARDY motioned to adjourn the meeting.  JOHN BARNEY SR. seconds the motion.
