    NSHPA Meeting Minutes

 

ATTENDEES:           Twenty-eight (28) 2003 NSHPA Members

                                    Four (4) non-member significant others

LOCATION:              Tonopah Station-Ramada Inn; Tonopah, Nevada

DATE:                        August 23, 2003.

 

·         DON WEAVER opened the meeting announcing the procedure for check-out, time, etc.

 

·         An email list was passed around for additions or updates.

 

·         DON WEAVER held discussion on the following topics:

through 19 and urged to support to eliminate paying park fees for future tournaments.

 September 20.

 

·         A special thanks was offered to FRANK BLAZEK and KEN JOSE for organizing the 2003 Nevada State Championships tournament in Tonopah, Nevada.

 

·         Proposals for the 2004 Nevada State Horseshoe Championships tournament location were put on the table.  NEAL SCHULTE moved to have the 2004 Nevada State Horseshoe Championships held in Tonopah again.  JOHN BARNEY SR. second the motion.  NANCY BUSHMA moved to have a choice in location for voting and put Beatty on the table.  BERT PEFFERS second the motion.  A unanimous vote put the Nevada State Horseshoe Championships in Tonopah in the year 2004.  Beatty received 5 votes.

 

·         The 2004 Nevada State Horseshoe Championships will be held the last weekend in August before Labor Day.  The date is August 29, 2004.

 

·         Elections for President and a Northern Vice President were opened for nominations.  JOHN BARNEY SR. nominated DON WEAVER for President.  GENO DAWSON second the nomination.  DON WEAVER accepted the nomination.  NANCY BUSHMA nominated GENO DAWSON for President.  GENO DAWSON declined the nomination.  DON WEAVER received a unanimous vote for President.  JIM COSTA nominated ELAINE PERRY for Northern Vice President.  GENO DAWSON second the nomination.  ELAINE PERRY accepted the nomination.  ELAINE PERRY received a unanimous vote for Northern Vice President.

 

·          FRANK MERCADANTE motioned to adjourn the meeting.  NANCY BUSHMA second the motion.
