·        Future World Tournament dates are as follows:

·        2002:  Red Deer, Alberta, CANADA

·        2003:  Eau Claire, Wisconsin, USA

·        Don Weaver explained why there was no progress in the Nevada State By-Laws and Standing Rules.

·        The 2001 Financial Report was passed around for viewing.  No comments or questions arose.  Bert Peffers motioned the Financial Report be approved as submitted.  Judy Siu second the motion.

·        Format difficulty for the Nevada State Horseshoe Championships was explained due to the spread in percentages.  No objections were made.

·        The standing Two (2) Tournament Rule was brought to the table for discussion by Scott Hardy.  Ron Jenkins opposed the Two (2) Tournament Rule because of planned tournament attendance in tournaments that were cancelled at the last minute or without notification.  Carrie Kenton suggested calling prior to traveling to a tournament of any distance.  It was decided to include the prior year’s Nevada State Horseshoe Championships tournament plus one (1) additional tournament prior to the current year Nevada State Horseshoe Championships.

·        Proposals for the 2002 Nevada State Horseshoe Championships location were put on the table.  Don Weaver stated Tonopah is very interested in holding the Nevada State Horseshoe Championships once again.  Lack of information moved the possibility ahead one more year.  Don Weaver explained the disadvantages of having the Nevada State Horseshoe Championships in Las Vegas or Reno, Nevada.  Minimum of $60.00 rooms and $25.00 banquet fee with a guaranteed number was neither feasible nor welcomed.  Don Weaver stated and proposed that John Bass in Beatty, Nevada, is willing to host the 2002 Nevada State Horseshoe Championships.  Scott Hardy second the motion.  A unanimous vote (20-4) selected Beatty, Nevada, as Nevada State Horseshoe Championships’ location in 2002.

·        It was discussed to move the Nevada State Horseshoe Championships date to the last weekend in September or leave the Nevada State Horseshoe Championships the last weekend in August before Labor Day.  The vote results are as follows:  September 28 & 29 = 9 votes; August 24 & 25 = 13 votes.  The 2002 Nevada State Horseshoe Championships will be held on August 24 and August 25, 2002.

·        Foster Kenton proposed to have only the Championships and moving them to Saturday for those driving long distances.  Neal Schulte proposed the format be left as is.  Cliff Boyer second the motion.  It was decided that those who did not wish to participate in the Nevada State Horseshoe Championships Preliminaries were allowed to send their registration money in advance to the NSHPA Secretary/Treasurer, Char Schulte.

·        Discussion regarding participation of past Vice Presidents posed the question as to the number of Vice Presidents needed.  Options which received few or no votes were four (4) Vice Presidents and two (2) Vice Presidents.  A vote for one (1) Vice President in Northern Nevada and one (1) Vice President in Southern Nevada was unanimous.

·        Tammy Camacho nominated Bert Peffers for the Southern Nevada Vice President position.  Lois Prihepa second the nomination.  Jim Costa nominated Elaine Perry as the Northern Nevada Vice President position.  Neal Schulte second the nomination.  John Barney nominated Char Schulte as Secretary/Treasurer.  Anita Mathieu second the motion.  Cliff Boyer nominated Don Weaver as President.  John Barney second the nomination.  All nominations received a unanimous vote.
