JACK GENSMAN       Waterford, MI

Jack was born and raised in Royal Oak and worked for the Royal Oak Fire Department. He stared pitching horseshoes when he during off times at the Fire Department where they had pits in the back of the station. Upon retirement he moved to Lupton near West Branch where he found a local league to pitch in. After returning to make Waterford his home he joined the Lake Orion Horseshoe club. He also was an active pitcher during the winter months in Florida. Jack joined the NHPA and Lake Orion Horseshoe Club in 2000. He pitched a ¾ turn using M&M shoes. He won the State Elders Division Championships in 2002, 03, 04, 07, and 08. In 2006 he was Runner-up. He has proven himself to be a fearless competitor and a great gentleman both on and off the courts. He is truly deserving to be a member of the MHPA Hall of Fame and it is with great pleasure that we induct him at his home courts on this 13th day of August, 2011.
