SCHPA Membership
The Southern California Horseshoe Pitchers Association (SCHPA) is an extension of the National Horseshoe Pitchers Association (NHPA); and, if you enjoy year-round organized horseshoe pitching, these are the associations you MUST join! Joint membership in both associations is granted with approval of a single membership application. Your membership allows you to enter and play in scheduled NHPA-sanctioned tournaments throughout the United States. See the SCHPA Pitching Schedule for the NHPA sanctioned
tournaments scheduled at
SCHPA Horseshoe Pitching Clubs throughout Southern California during the year.
For SCHPA membership, you must live in one of the following southern California counties: San Luis Obispo, Santa Barbara, Ventura, Los Angeles, Orange, San Diego, Kern, Riverside, San Bernardino, Imperial, Mono, or Inyo. See the
membership application for the annual dues for both adults and juniors (under 19 years old). The pitching distance for women and juniors is 30 feet while adult men pitch 40 feet. And, after adult men reach 70 years old or if they become physically challenged, they may choose to move up to 30 feet too. So, our organized horseshoes is a sport for all people for a lifetime.
Your horseshoe pitching skill level does NOT MATTER! Our tournaments are mostly "singles" and organized to place you with other players of similar skill levels. Therefore, all players entered have a fair opportunity to WIN by playing their best. You'll meet great people that are just like you - they are there because they enjoy the game and they are trying their best to win under fair, controlled rules and conditions. Also note that junior members may enter our tournaments for FREE; therefore, sign up the whole family and proudly watch your kids succeed in a fun sport.
SCHPA members look forward to meeting you and playing the game we love!
